Noticias de Rosana y Alcito

Sra. Dana retired on June 30, 2022, after forty years of teaching, and for the last thirty-one of those years, she was a Spanish teacher at Cape Elizabeth MS. She already misses her students. 🥲

Alcito el Alcito and Rosana la Ratoncita, CE Swap Shop finds, will continue to post in Spanish in Instagram. Once an educator, always an educator, and Sra. Dana wants students to practice Spanish and learn about the world.

The first retirement adventure is to hike the Camino Francés in Spain in September and October. Rosana will hike the Camino with Sra. Dana but Alcito is a bit too big for the backpack so he'll stay in Cape to enjoy the fall.🍁🎃

We won't update this blog much, we'll continue to use Instagram for social media.

Las vacaciones invernales, Diciembre 2020

¡Felices Vacaciones! Winter vacation started yesterday, a very welcome two-week break. We've been fortunate to attend classes in the building and see each other face to face but this pandemic is a challenging time.

It has been a LONG fall for everybody. We all have to wear masks, socially distance in the hallways, sit 6' apart in the classroom, sit in assigned seats in cafeteria, two students to a table, no interscholastic sports, no running around at recess, too many Zoom meetings, and more.

We're lucky that almost everybody has internet access at home and all students have a Macbook Air or an iPad. Teaching and Learning continues, although in a new format. The students have been awesome, adapting to pandemic school. Not easy but we're all looking on the bright side, taking it day by day.

The Cape Elizabeth Faculty and Staff wish you all a Happy 2021!

June 2019

June 2019:

Alcito has a new friend from the Cape Elizabeth Swap Shop. Her name is Rosana la Ratoncita, Rosana the Little Mouse. She speaks Spansih, and she's an adventurer and pilot. She especially likes to fly in the little saucepan that she found in the Swap Shop.

She will be traveling to Spain this summer, 2019, with Sra. Dana. It's her first trip out of the United States. Her plans are to hike the Camino Lebaniego and the Camino de Madrid. She'll also go to Pamplona to see the Running of the Bulls, visit Bilbao, San Juan de Gaztelugatxe, the Mar Cantábrico, visit friends in La Rioja, and then spend time in Madrid before returning home.

Alcito will stay in Cape this summer to rest and enjoy the Maine summer.

Follow her adventures on Alcito's Instagram. We'll be changing the Instagram name to Alcito and Rosana.
